rafty Kids is a not-for-profit that teaches toy design to kids around the world. The program was launched in January of 2007 at the East Harlem Tutorial in NYC. Another program is starting at PS 11 in Brooklyn in January of 2010 and a partnership is starting with the Children’s Village in Kenya in May of 2010. The products made by the kids will be sold online and the money raised will go back to their Crafty Kids program. The Crafty Kids website also serves as a vehicle in which participants in the program can meet new friends from different countries, exchange ideas about projects they are working on, and learn about each other’s cultures. 10% of the proceeds from Lindie & Friends goes to Crafty Kids.
