rafty Kids is a not-for-profit that teaches toy making to kids around the world. The program was launched in January of 2007 at the East Harlem Tutorial in NYC. Two additional programs are starting at elementary schools in NYC during the 2010-2011 school year. A partnership with the Children’s Village in Meru, Kenya is beginning in October of 2010. The products made by the kids will be sold online and the money raised will go back to their Crafty Kids program. The Crafty Kids website also serves as a vehicle in which participants in the program can meet new friends from different countries, exchange ideas about projects they are working on, and learn about each other’s cultures. 10% of the proceeds from Lindie & Friends goes to Crafty Kids.

The Crafty Kids project is built on the following ideas: change starts small and can happen both globally and locally and we learn the most through teaching others.
